The Faith Traveler

Hebrews 11

By faith Abraham, when he was called, obeyed and set out for a place that he was going to receive as an inheritance. He went out, even though he did not know where he was going. By faith he stayed as a foreigner in the land of promise, living in tents as did Isaac and Jacob, coheirs of the same promise. 10 For he was looking forward to the city that has foundations, whose architect and builder is God.

John 1:14 14 The Word became flesh and dwelt[h] among us. We observed his glory, the glory as the one and only Son[i] from the Father, full of grace and truth.

  • John 1:14 is a summary of the entire Gospel of John…this is the story of Jesus.

  • 1 Chronicles 29: 15 For we are aliens and temporary residents in your presence as were all our ancestors. Our days on earth are like a shadow, without hope.

  • 1 Peter 1

  • 13 Therefore, with your minds ready for action, be sober-minded and set your hopecompletely on the grace to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. 14 As obedient children, do not be conformed to the desires of your former ignorance. 15 But as the one who called you is holy, you also are to be holy in all your conduct; 16 for it is written, Be holy, because I am holy.[d]17 If you appeal to the Father who judges impartially according to each one’s work, you are to conduct yourselves in reverence during your time living as strangers. 18 For you know that you were redeemed from your empty way of life inherited from your fathers, not with perishable things like silver or gold, 19 but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of an unblemished and spotless lamb. 20 He was foreknown before the foundation of the world but was revealed in these last timesfor you. 21 Through him you believe in God, who raised him from the dead and gave him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God.

John 14:3

If I go away and prepare a place for you, I will come again and take you to myself, so that where I am you may be also.

2 Corinthians 5: So we are always confident and know that while we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord. For we walk by faith, not by sight. In fact, we are confident, and we would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord. Therefore, whether we are at home or away, we make it our aim to be pleasing to him. 10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each may be repaid for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil.
