Romans 3:9-20

August 11, 2019

Romans 3:

What then? Are we any better off?[d] Not at all! For we have already charged that both Jews and Gentiles[e] are all under sin,[f] 10 as it is written:

There is no one righteous, not even one.
11 There is no one who understands;
there is no one who seeks God.
12 All have turned away;
all alike have become worthless.
There is no one who does what is good,
not even one.[g]
13 Their throat is an open grave;
they deceive with their tongues.[h]
Vipers’ venom is under their lips.[i]
14 Their mouth is full of cursing and bitterness.[j]
15 Their feet are swift to shed blood;
16 ruin and wretchedness are in their paths,
17 and the path of peace they have not known.[k]
18 There is no fear of God before their eyes.[l]

19 Now we know that whatever the law says, it speaks to those who are subject to the law,[m] so that every mouth may be shut and the whole world may become subject to God’s judgment.[

Matthew 15: 19 For from the heart come evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, sexual immoralities, thefts, false testimonies, slander.

 “Listen and understand: 11 It’s not what goes into the mouth that defiles a person, but what comes out of the mouth—this defiles a person.”

Romans 3:20 - 20 For no one will be justified[o] in his sight by the works of the law, because the knowledge of sin comes through the law.

22 The righteousness of God is through faith in Jesus Christ[q] to all who believe, since there is no distinction.

All under sin….in the natural state

1 Corithians 4:3-4

It is of little importance to me that I should be judged by you or by any human court.[a] In fact, I don’t even judge myself. For I am not conscious of anything against myself, but I am not justified by this. It is the Lord who judges me.
